Reusing a bag across trips with saved bags

Updated Aug 30, 20263 min read

If you pack the same set of things every trip โ€” a toiletry bag, a camera bag, a kid's kit โ€” you can save that bag once and drop it into any future trip. That's a saved bag.

Saved bag vs. template vs. Trip Kit
A saved bag is one reusable bag that drops into an existing list. A template is a whole packing list that becomes a new trip. The Trip Kit is shared group gear the organizer curates. Different jobs โ€” pick the one that matches what you're reusing.

Save a bag

1
Open a trip's packing list in โœŽ Edit items mode with Group set to Bag.
2
On the bag's card header, tap Save bag.
3
That bag now shows a mint ๐Ÿ”– saved bag chip. If you tweak its items on this trip later, tap Update saved bag to push the changes back to the saved version.

Add a saved bag to a trip

On any trip's packing list, tap + Add a bag. The panel lists your saved bags โ€” tap Add to trip on one and its items come in as a new bag, all set to Need. The same panel also offers a few ready-made starter kits (Toiletries, Beach day, Baby gear, Ski kit) if you'd rather start from one of those.

Rename, share, or delete a saved bag

Open Account โ†’ Saved bags for the full list. Each row has Rename, Share, Delete, and Edit items (which opens the bag inside a trip so you can change what's in it). Sharing a saved bag works like sharing a list โ€” the person you share it with can use and update the same kit, so a couple can keep one toiletry bag between them.

Good to know
The Free plan keeps 1 saved bag; Pro is unlimited. Free is one, not zero, so you can try the feature before deciding.
Heads up
Adding a saved bag makes a copy โ€” editing that trip's bag afterward doesn't change the saved version unless you tap Update saved bag. Item statuses always reset to Need when a saved bag is added.
