Saving a list as a reusable template

Updated Jul 25, 20262 min read

Got a packing list you're proud of? You can save it as a template โ€” a public, shareable version anyone can copy into their own trip, no PackLash Pro required on either end.

Turn your list into a template

1
Open the trip's packing list, in โœŽ Edit items mode.
2
Tap โญ Save as Template in the toolbar.
3
Give the template a name and description.
4
Copy the share link that appears โ€” that's what you'll send around.
Good to know
Anyone with the link can copy the template into a new trip of their own โ€” they don't need an account connection to you, and it doesn't require Pro.
Template or saved bag?
A template is a whole packing list that someone copies into a new trip. A saved bag is a single reusable bag you drop into an existing list. Reusing one bag, not a whole list? Use a saved bag instead.

What carries over

The template captures your item names, types, and quantities. It doesn't carry over your bag structure โ€” everyone who copies it gets a single fresh bag with everything in it, since they're organizing for their own trip. Statuses, sharing settings, and beneficiary assignments reset too, so it always starts as a clean Need list for a different group of travelers.

Heads up
Updating your original trip's list later won't update the template. If you want the template to reflect changes, save it again to create a new version with its own link.
